The Kiddimoto Story
2003
The First Kiddimoto Balance Bike Was Born
Kiddimoto was born after founder Simon Booth built a wooden prototype of a superbike inspired balance bike in his flat in Axbridge, Somerset.
2004
First Bikes Off the Production Line
Production began in earnest at a workshop in Cheddar, where the Superbike and Scrambler became the first bikes off the Kiddimoto production line.
2006
Kiddimoto Officially One of a Kind
The first of a string of accolades came with the prestigious Hamleys One of a Kind toy of the year award.
2009
On the Move
Having outgrown its previous premises, Kiddimoto moved to a brand-new location in the tiny village of Westbury-Sub-Mendip in the Somerset countryside near Wells.
2011
Enter the Dragon
Simon made an appearance on the BBC’s popular Dragon’s Den programme. After a gruelling interrogation, he left with investment offers from two Dragons!
2013
Demanding Times
With business booming, the Westbury warehouse was expanded in order to keep up with demand from the UK and abroad.
2015
Royal Seal of Approval
Kiddimoto won its most prestigious accolade yet, with the Queen’s Award for International Trade.
2016
On the Move (Again!)
Another expansion was needed, and we moved into our current premises in Cheddar Business Park to hold more staff and more stock!
2017
Karbon Launch
Our most exciting project to date! We design and produce Karbon – our first ever Carbon Fibre balance bike.
2018
Introducing IKON
The next generation of Kiddimoto helmets are born! We introduced our IKON range, starting with our high tech full face helmets.
2020
A Natural Progression
Move again! Into a purpose built office and warehouse.
Launch of new uZoom2 scooters.
The new line of Kurve wooden balance bikes revealed.
